Getting Mortgage Protection After Mortgage is drawn down

Does anyone know if it is possible to get Mortgage Protection after you draw down the Mortgage ( I am 2 years into the Mortgage). I rang up AIB Finance Ltd and they said I could only get it before the Mortgage is drawn down .... is this the case? ..... are there any other insurance policies can be taken out to offer protection against loosing your job?

most mortgage lenders only offer this cover when you are taking out your mortgage. There are some Irish online providers of mortgage payment protection. Do a google.ie search for 'mortgage payment protection' to get a few prices and make sure to read the terms and conditions
