Getting a mortgage with credit rating issues

Is there any bank that will entertain someone with credit rating issues? A friend of mine has an old loan they stopped paying during a difficult time (CU loan) - they have since resumed paying it and have come to an agreement with the CU and all is going well. They are in a steady well paying job and want to borrow less than 100K to buy a house. Thanks.

I believe Pepper Money specialise in this type of scenario.

Thanks I have contacted them and they told me they only lend for properties in Dublin Kildare Clare Limerick Cork Galway at the moment so that counts my friend out

The first thing you need to do is get ICB report and see how bad the history is. Not all Credit Unions used to report to ICB.
