gearbox trouble on 2year old car

I have a 2 year old car that has a 3 year warranty. The gearbox is giving trouble, so I brought it back to the garage. They contacted the car manufacturers Irish office. The car manufacturer won't let them replace the gearbox, the garage have to repair it.

Does anyone find this odd? Shouldn't they replace it?

Not really.

A repaired 'box should be fine, as long as the work and materials are 100%.

I hope they give you a replacement car during the down time.

Thanks RS2K. They are giving me a replacement car. I reckon it would cost them less to put a new gearbox in!

If it's only a small part thats gone, probably not.

Either way the 'box has to come out.
