Gas Control Panel Broken?

We just noticed this morning that our gas which comes on for 20mins every morning to heat the water was still on well after the time had passed for it to go off. We then noticed that the display on the control panel wasnt working and even though we pressed the buttons on the panel, the gas wouldnt go off. We have turned the central heating switch on the switchboard off now but has anyone else had this problem? Gas is only in 3 years.

What control panel are you taking about? the programmer or the boiler?

If the boiler was not responding, then a possible PCB fault (a very unusual one!)

If it's the programmer, then this will most likely need replacing.

One other possibility is that a motorized zone valve has jammed in the on position.

Either way, it's time to call out a service technician (a registered one!)
