Garden Sun

Hi

Would anyone be able to tell me which is the best for garden sunlight. I know south facing is best in the morning but would north westerly be best in the afternoon.

My understanding is that south facing gets most sun in the afternoon and south west gets most in late afternoon, early evening.

South/south west is the orientation you want the back of your house to face. That will give you sun from about 11am until it sets in the evening. For morning sun you would need to face east but you would have no sun after about 11am. Some people confuse facing with having the front of the house facing south - but most people prefer the privacy of sitting at the back of the house. So the back facing south/south west is the best - thats the way I have it and I am a sun worshipper and it works perfectly. That is of course when there is sun!

Thanks for the replies, thats a help. I myself too would like to have the sun more in the afternoon/evening than first thing in morning!
