I hope I'm asking this question in the right area.
As a condition of employment many employers seek garda vetting for their employees. Can anybody tell me whether an employer has the right to refuse to employ someone based on the vetting report received? Does the prospective employee have the right to challange the issue if he/she feels that his record does not affect his/her abilty to do the job.
Secondly, AFAIK Garda Vetting can be obtained for EU citizens resident in Ireland through the central vetting unit but I'm not sure if vetting can be obtained for persons originally resident outside the EU. If someone can enlighten me I would be very grateful.
As always thanks so much aam for the help.
