Galvanized metal sheet..

We are looking for a sheet of galvanized metal - - only need a sheet of probably less than 6 ft in height and about 16 inches in depth or even less. Not sure where to source it from ....any suggestions of anywhere around north dublin area? Have gone to a few hardware places, builders merchants, DIY centres etc but no joy.

Are you looking for flat sheet or corrugated? And what is it to be used for?

You are best looking for sheet metal fabricators and ringing around. I used Delvo Catering before for sheets of stainless steel.

its to protect the frame of an outside door.

It would be a flat sheet not corrugated.

Call any sheet metal fabricators, they can shear a piece to size or even punch / laser holes etc. They usually have off cuts, they buy the metal for about 0.84 - 1.00 EUR per kg. so don't get ripped off.

6' x 16" of 1.8mm Galvanized cost them about 10EUR. The cost will go up if they have to do any other operations.

Galvanized is self healing on scratches, but the edges will rust. Aluminium or Stainless will last longer/look better.
