Hi folks

I made the silly mistake of buying lightfittings that need g9 halogen bulbs and now I find I need a few replacement bulbs. Looking around the shops I can't believe how expensive they are. I've looked online and can get them 1/2 price from the UK, but carriage negates the advantage - £20 quid deliver is usual.

Anyone know a reliable cheap source of these bad boys?

Same here. The cheapest in ireland are almost E5 each. Here is Sweden, they are E1.70 each. I will be bringing back about about 20 the next time I go back to ireland for spares for the future.

ive G9 in my liviing room, 6 in total

They also come in CFL 7 watt
I got the CFLs, they use 6 times less current than the 40watt Halogens, and they give off the same light

A word of warning about the halogens, dont touch the bulbs with your fingers,
The oil from your hand willl cause the light to burn out quicker, due to raising the temp of the bulb on the outside

have a look on ebay for the halogens, they are really cheap, you can get 10 of them for 5 sterling delivered
