FYI Avant don’t do mortgage top ups.

Hi all,
Just thought I’d let people know Avant don’t provide mortgage top ups.
I’m currently on the seven year fixed and enquired would it be possible to look for a top up/equity release for a house extension (previous mortgage lenders have allowed this) even if they treated the top up at a different rate then the fixed but they don’t offer this service.
This knowledge may come in useful for someone in the future?

Thanks. In case useful also when I refinanced with them at the start of last year they wouldn't agree to the term of the Avant loan being greater than the loan being refinanced.

I was offered a topup (up to €20,000 self certified) for home improvements when I switched to them last year.

I should have clarified but I’m 16 months into a 7 year fixed with them.
They didn’t want to look at equity release- I suppose that’s just the way they are setup which is fine.

They will do equity release / topup at the time of the switch, but not later.

Yep they don’t seem to provide the later option unfortunately in my case.
