Looking for a place to sell a full container of excellent quality, almost new furniture and kitchen equipment, ideal to fit out new unfurnished apartment or house. Currently its in storage and is very costly

donedeal.ie or sellsellsell.ie or buyandsell.ie

Or there is an auctioneer in newcastlewest, co.limerick who does furniture auctions now and then, cant think of his name but maybe someone else can help. Might be too far for you anyway. Isnt there a furniture auction in Blackrock ( Dublin) every now and then ?

Yep Vanilla you are rtight. Called Buckleys in Glasthule (just past Dun Laoghaire) held weekly or Herman Wilkinson in Rathmines

There's an auctioneer in Kells - Ushers who hold regular furniture auctions. Also a guy in Nobber - Joe Carty, who runs auctions every so often.

Don't know where OP is from but there is a new auction room in Tuam, County Galway which is held on the first Saturday of each month and welcomes quality second hand furniture. It advertises in the local press so can give name, address and number if required. Think it is well attended by people looking for good bargains in the current climate.

just make sure to put a reserve on it, and don't forget the auctioneers fees! (around 15-20%)

we bought some beautiful ex-showhouse furniture very cheap at an auction a few years ago. i couldn't believe how little we got it for.

auctioneers will give you a free valuation so get a few to have a look at the lot before committing to anyone in particular.

also, i find that auctioneers can vary hugely in their enthusiasm to 'sell up' an item. some are brilliant and really get the crowd interested, others act like they've just woken up. so it's worth doing a bit of research before deciding who to go with.

would love to hear how you get on.good luck.:)
