Hi, just looking for a few pointers.

I used to work in the UK and I have the following there.

2 deferred defined contribution pensions and a small deferred defined benefit pension.

15 years of contributions for the UK govt pension but I hope to buy more years.

In Ireland I have the following

2 deferred DC pensions and an active DC pension scheme which I am maxing out re contributions.

15 years of contributions for the Irish govt pension, is it possible to buy back years for this like UK?

Currently all funds are in equity trackers.

I'm currently looking into moving my DC funds into a SIPP (any recommendations gratefully received) to try see if I can get a greater return but not to gamble.

Is it possible to put my 2 Ireland deferred DC schemes into a SIPP type product here? If so is it then possible to transfer my current DC scheme over to this?

Also any directions to professional advice also very welcome

Hi

There is a lot of complexity here not least because HMRC are changing the rules at the end of this month as I recently set out in this post

Start this process straight away is in general you can only make voluntary contributions for the preceding six years, but this depends on your age. Send HMRC a completed form NI38 immediately.

Not as far as I am aware.

There is an article in today's Irish Times about backdating voluntary prsi payments beyond 6 years. It might be possible to make a case to extend back past 6 years.
