Fuel Prices

The only thing is that even though it is probably good timing for the government to be getting the tax back on when fuel prices have fallen alot, it is going to cause an increase in inflation or cancel out the fall in inflation in other areas.
Maybe they could reduce the MUP pricing on alcohol to counteract that, that would cancel out the increased fuel duties on the inflation rate. It was an incredibly stupid policy anyway and the timing was horrendous

Looks like government might pause the October restoration of fuel excise:

Rates were due to be fully restored on 31 October with a final increase of 8 cent for petrol, 6 cent for diesel, and 3 cent for market gas oil.

I hope this is true as fuel prices are quite expensive right now.. Ballon in Co Carlow the cheapest at 175.9 in the County..

We are now in full Budget kite flying season by the looks of it. What the government give it the government take it . LV has already said the cost of living measures in the upcoming budget will be less than last year. A lot of noise coming from all sides at the moment.

They obviously getting in the ear now at constituency level. As it is the hard pressed worker that has no choice but to drive to work every day is being penalised the most by these taxes. It has to be remembered that these are the essential workers that worked all during covid manning the essential factories ,supermarkets and essential services . They didn't draw the pup payments they worked and paid taxes throughout covid
