Quick question on my status on form 11 - I got married in 2010 am now jointly assesed as my husband not working so I have his tax credits etc.

I am filling in form 11 for rental income for 2010 - am I correct in saying I complete it as a single person as the married tax credit did not kick in till 2011?

And then for 2011 tax return I take him into account?

Yes you are right.

The married tax credit will take effect from 1 Jan 2011.

However you can request a review of your situation in the year of marriage - see http://www.revenue.ie/en/tax/it/leaflets/it2.html

Are you correct in filling a form 11? If you have PAYE income and your rental profit is less than €3174, its a form 12 you need

My rental profit will be less than €3174 but as I have already registered for IT should I just fill in form 11 or would form 12 be ok? Should I get on to tax office to deregister for Income Tax?

If you have already registered for IT, you will have to fill in Form 11 for 2010, however you should contact the tax office to deregister for future years.

I got married in 2011, so on my Form 11 tax return for 2010, what do I put down for marital status? My status now, or at the end of 2010, or... ?

If I select "Married", it asks me to select type of assessment, so should I pick "Single treatment" as for the purposes of 2010, I was single?
