Form 11 - Period for which you wish to file is empty - what do I do?

I have to file bank interest of around 17k and 500 euros gain from an ETF.
As a PAYE Employee, I usually fill a Form 12 and IT38 if required
but I've been pushed towards the Form 11 due to the ETF

I registered for ros.ie but

When I try to file online the dropdown is empty for the period for which I wish to file, and I presume I will have no pre-filled data either.

I did request to add the Form 11 service some weeks ago.

Any ideas why the drop down might be blank?

Thanks

Are you registered under ' manage tax registrations' > income tax for 2024?

Thanks,
I am trying to file for 2024. The manage my registrations has income tax not selected

I guess once I choose "Manage my Registrations" I need to register for income tax.

If I have 17k EU bank interest and a small gain from an ETF that I fully disposed of , could I get away with a Form 12 and a IT38 CGT?

With the 500€ gain from the ETF you probably could, but 17k EU bank interest is substantially over the 5k threshold for non-PAYE income. You would be invited by Revenue to submit a Form 11 if you did try to submit a Form 12.

After adding Income Tax under "Manage Tax Registrations" in ROS, how long does it take to be available as a filing period in the dropdown on the income tax / form 11 screen?

(Have sent an enquiry to Revenue also in case they need to do something manually behind the scenes).

Officially a Form 11 is required via ROS (too late to file paper form without penalties), and that should be your plan A.

If you can't get setup to file income tax for 2024 via ROS by 19 Nov (should still be possible, but it's peak time for Revenue), plan B would be to file Form 12 via My Account and deal with the fallout (e.g. outstanding PRSI liability) via a late submission. Form 12 in My Account will accept returns with non-PAYE income exceeding €5,000.

So I'm having the same problem as the OP - 2024 is not available for me on the Income Tax screen in ROS.

Revenue My Enquiries have confirmed that I'm registered (as self-assessed) for Income Tax for 2024. However 2024 is not available as a period in the dropdown on the Form 11 screen in ROS.

As expected, I can no longer access the 2024 Form 12 screen in My Account, so my plan B is no longer an option. I've followed up again with My Enquiries, but wondering if I just need to wait for some background processing to complete.

Just to confirm 2024 appeared for me in ROS overnight, a day after Revenue had apparently done something to set me up as a chargeable person for 2024 (and two days after I had self-registered for income tax on ROS under 'Manage my tax registrations').
