Form 11 or Form 12?

I am a PAYE worker with foreign rental income. I have previously declared the rental income for 2009, when my rental income was €9,680, using Form 12 and this was accepted by revenue.

For 2010, I filed form 12 (did this last week). However I am now not sure if I should have filed Form 11 or Form 12. Can someone please advise me based on the figures below?

Foreign Rental Income €11,810
Allowable expenses € 7,038

Taxable Profit € 4,772 (profit is high as I only have a small mortgage).

As income > €3175, should file a Form 11. You'll know soon enough as I suspect the Revenue will send back the Form 12 and ask for a Form 11 to be submitted.

Just to update this - after submitting Form 12 I rang revenue. They advised me not to worry, as it was my first time in this situation they were unlikely to punish me. However, they said that if I wished I could send in Form 11.

I decided to wait and see what would happen and didn't submit form 11.
Anyway, last week I got a balancing statement back from revenue - so they have accepted my return via Form 12. Seems strange, but I am not complaining.
