Firstly, for the young adult, VHI are most competitive and best value for young adults, at the moment.
The following 2 plans are worth considering, the main difference being the private hospital excess 250 or 500 on admission for surgery or treatment. These prices will bring down costs substantially.
1. One Plan 500; price 264pa(1/7/2018); all public and private hospitals covered. Private hospital excess 500 x 2 max per year for all admissions.
2. One Plan 250; price 312pa(1/7/2018); all public and private hospitals covered. Private hospital excess 250 x 2 max per year for all admissions.

Adults Options
1. VHI One Plan 500; price 715pa;(1/7/2018); all public and private hospitals covered + some Beacon hospital cover included. Private hospital excess 500 x 2 max
per year for all private hospital admissions. Day case excess 150 per procedure.
2. Irish Life; Benefit 2 plan; price 788pa( also from June 12th 2018 there is a special offer for one month free on all Benefit plans. There is a selected list of public and private hospitals covered on this plan. I don't know where you are located, but if its Dublin, there is a very good selection of both private and public hospitals included. You will need to check out these hospital lists to make sure that they suit your location. Private hospital excess 300 per admission. Day case excess 150 per procedure.
Re Laya, Flex 500 Explore is best value at the moment.

Irish Life; Be Fit 2 plan; price 332pa; all public, private and 3 hi-tech hospitals covered, private hospital excess is 125 per admission or
day case. Good day to day cover included, child speech therapy covered 50% upto 30 x 8 visits, etc.

You can split cover if it suits, for example one adult + one child with Laya while the other adult may pick VHI or Irish Life. Whatever
combination works, and everyone on different plans if it suits.
