Hello, I received a fixed penalty notice form breaking a red light recently - 2 points plus €80 fine if you pay within 28 days - €120 if over 28 days but within 56. Stupid I know but it has just gone a couple of days over 56 and when I went to the post office they could not process the payment. It seems no what the next will be a court prosecution and 5 points on my license.

If I call the fixed processing office will they allow some grace or is this a waste of time ? Are all of these notices followed up on ?

Any advice appreciated. Tks, BK

All you can do now is wait for the summons.

You might be lucky and your case falls through the cracks. You never know.

There's no point calling the fixed processing office. They won't be able to do anything for you. Once it goes beyond 56 days it automatically becomes a matter for the Courts.

Having said that, I was forgot to pay a speeding fine with the 56 day period and I'm still waiting for my summons. That was over a year and a half ago.
