Keano99, what that carpenter suggested is a floating floor. Each board is glued together, but the floor is free to move over the slab as it expands/contracts.

What type of underlay between slab and floating floor?
I used Elastilon in the past, but i am quite keen at trying a different method this time, as Elastilon is on the pricey side!
Looks like the method discussed in this tread is the way to go and probably the cheapest.
