Fitting a new Dual Fuel Rangemaster cooker

hi,
I am getting my kitchen redone and i have bought a new dual fuel rangemaster cooker. We have natural gas in the house. My builder
said he will connect a new pipe to my gas boiler and connect up the
new cooker. My question is : do i need a registered gas fitter certified by Bord Gais to do this work or is it ok to let my builder do it ?
 
For Insurance purposes you need to get a Cert from the gas plumber and only registered gas plumbers can give the cert.

This probably only comes into play if there is ever a claim though...
 
Check your hob is fitted with Flame Failure Device. A registered gas fitter is required by law but he/she will not fit if no FFD is present. No FFD invalidates all insurance policies.
 
Thanks guys , I found a registered installer to do it for me.
I bought my cooker through DID in lucan. I had priced it for 400 euro
cheaper on an english website but i had been warned not to buy because it wouldnt have the FFD fitted cos they have different requirements in the UK
 
We have a Rangemaster Leisure 110 dual fuel range about 4 years old and are moving to a house that does not have natural gas access. Is there an adapter kit so we can use it with bottled gas? Thanks.
 
There is a kit known as an LPG kit that should enable you to connect your gas cooker to bottled gas. I'd try contacting Rangemaster to see who sells the kit in Ireland and to double check your cooker can use the kit.
 
I have seen other sites that suggest Hardys in Newry do great deals on Rangemaster but have tried calling over the past few days. Anyone have a number. I have been calling 00 44 28 4176 3366??
