FIS waiting time?

Hi there, I applied in March and received a letter acknowledging receipt of application and that they will let me know when a decision has been made.. does anyone know how long it will take before I start receiving payment??
Also I will be having a baby in a few weeks and will need to inform them when I have the pps number so they can increase the payment, will this take another few weeks to do also?

Its about 10 weeks at the moment, with a lot of people taking pay cuts its bringing huge numbers into the FIS net so big backlogs there at the moment.
 
hi, it took about 2 months for payment to come through for us. as for new baby PPS number, after she was born we registered her in the hospital and her PPS number was posted out to us in a matter of days. In our case, once she was born it was posted out to us about what to do next kind of thing.....

thanks for your replies! thats not too bad I suppose, I had heard that it might take 4 months..when you ring up about the new baby do you have to make another application or do they just recalculate it and send out the payment?
 
I know we only posted off 1 application re: benefit. registered her at hospital, I can only suppose they calculate both of them together... sorry cant remember where application was posted to... (baby brain!)
