Hello,
We've put this on the long finger but would like to enter the health insurance market in order to avoid further loadings. We are both healthy non smokers with no real need to visit the GP. (We would appreciate travel insurance built in if there was such a thing...) I'm 36 and my husband is 39. Happy to have max cash excess to keep the premium basic . No underlying health conditions thankfully. Any advice is welcome.

Also, could you advise on the best insurance for my mother who has always had insurance but not sure she's on the right plan. She is 73 - needs access to private hospitals.

Hi bess,

Firstly, regarding your mother, what health insurance plan is she on at the moment and when is her renewal date?

For yourself and your husband, the following 3 plans are the cheapest plans available that included private hospital cover.
Details as follows; I see from previous posts that you are based in Galway, the details refer to the relevant hospitals.
As you are both over 34 years of age, there will be a 2% loading for each year, 4% for you and 10% for your husband.
