First time buyer status

Hi Everyone,

I bought a house a couple of years ago, and now my girlfriend wants to co-own the house with me. So we're going through the mortgage/legal process at the moment.

My question is, will she lose her first time buyer status?
If so, what are the current benefits of having the first time buyer status?

on the other hand if she stays off the books and ye buy somewhere else she pays a (hell of a ) lot less stamp duty if the gaff is in her name only coz she will be an FTB unlike you , if ye are not moving then share away.

Also, just to clarify - FTBs are exempt from stamp duty on second hand properties up to €317,500. Both FTB and non FTB owner occupiers are exempt from SD on new properties (up to 125sqm).
