hi
i am currently a 4th year apprentice electrician and have completed all phases of my apprenticeship and have recieved the results of phase the 7(the last phase).
however i'm not actually finished my apprenticeship as i have to wait til march until the 4 years are completed.

does anyone know if it is possible to finish before march as i want to go travelling before then?

will fas still give me my national trade certificate if i leave before march?

if you get on well with your boss, he can just fill in the proper paper work and send it on to fas. he doesn't have to wait for 6 months and then send it in.

sorry I misread. you are now qualified and finished if you got your phase 7 results. and by law your employer is suppose to let you go, and then if he wants take you back on. its only if you have only got your phase 6 results that you have to stick around and then see my first post

thanks for that

i just wasn't sure if fas would give me my papers if i don't complete my full four years. they said i'm not entitled to the qualified rate of pay until the four years are completed. do you know if this is true?

hi,
i rang fas today and they say that i need to complete the full four years or i won't get my trade certificate. has anyone ever had experience of this?
