They’ve rode to the rescue of a desperate situation where last month the Thanksgiving fairy (poetic license) didn’t deliver the big one to President Brittle Ego.

There are no words…or maybe there are.

Over to you.

D.

Leaving aside the fact that Trump will never, ever be given credit for anything by a large cohort who want him to fail at all costs, I think history will probably be kinder to him.

If the killing in the Middle East stops (or at least lessens) and a Ukraine deal is reached, then good luck to him.

At least they're trying. What did Biden and the EU do to end it? Can't recall much...

Elsewhere, I think in years to come we'll wonder how an extreme ideology got such a foothold in sporting bodies putting young women in danger.

Trump can take some credit for taking on that too.

(He'll never win a Golden Cleric award all the same...)

The killing in the Middle East... the killing Trump told Israel to get on with? That Republicans in Congress jumped at any sign of Biden and Democrats trying to reduce weapons \ pressure Israel into a ceasefire?
It's obvious that both Putin and Netanyahu's strategy and conduct were factoring in a Trump win and such Republican pressure.

He's been trying to sell out Ukraine for years now. That's what he has been trying to do. Nothing to do with peace.

The EU and Biden didn't "end it", because Putin's demands would not bring any real peace, it was about abandoning Ukraine to further Russian aggression.

We see Trump's "deals", he doesn't care who he sells out or their fate as long as he gets his cut.
A real peace is something else.

As for putting young women in danger? You mean like when Trump was hanging around teen beauty contests when they were undressing?
Or those on his good buddy Epstein's island?
Or sexually assaulting a woman? An assault that under Irish law would be classed as rape.
What about the young women in Afghanistan he abandoned by effectively signing a surrender deal to the Taliban?
Yeah he cares as much about protecting women as he does about the fate of civilians in Ukraine or Gaza under any of his corrupt "deals".

“The Trump administration's abrupt and steep cuts to foreign aid have halted most of USAID's programs. To estimate how many lives could be affected by the dismantling of the agency going forward, the researchers used what they'd learned in the retrospective analysis to estimate how many preventable deaths might occur if the current USAID cuts become permanent. If that happens, they estimate that somewhere between 8 and 19 million people could die, including 4.5 million children, by 2030.” Extract from the medical journal, The Lancet

I also read recently that the USAID cuts have already resulted in the deaths of over 600,000 people. How the head of any administration overseeing these cuts can be celebrated internationally is beyond me.

I've just renewed my poetic licence:-

"Trumpty Dumpty sat on his Wall
Whence Trumpty Dumpty will have a big fall
Golf courses, armed forces
Will never put Trumpty In charge of anyone or anything ever again.

Trumpty Dumpty sat on the ground,
Trumpty Dumpty looked all around,
Gone were the Trumpettes and gone were the Spoofs,
All he could see everywhere, all around, were millions of horses with very sharp hoofs."

Of course it scans, my licence says so!

one recent example, vaccines stop being given for hepatitis.

Except that isn't the case. The panel in the US have recommended that universal vaccines for hepatitis at birth should end and that they should be given at two months or above. As is the case in Ireland, the UK, Canada and many other countries. (Finland don't even have universal Hepatitis vaccines for children instead focusing mainly on high-risk groups.)

It is the case. The quackery will result in babies not getting the vaccine who need it.

What do those countries have the US doesnt?

Universal health care.

Given the parlous shape of US maternal screening, health care etc they are nothing like the countries listed.

Which is why it was recommended in the US.

It is anti vax quackery that will have negative consequences for the poorest and most vulnerable in US society.

From The Journal:

The repercussions of the ACIP’s vaccine recommendations are broad because federal guidelines often dictate whether vaccines are paid for by health insurance companies in the United States, where a vaccine can cost hundreds of dollars.

“This irresponsible and purposely misleading guidance will lead to more hepatitis B infections in infants and children,” American Academy of Paediatrics President Susan J. Kressly said in a statement.
