Hope someone can give me advice. Purchased sofa from Harvey Norman on 13th April of this year. Sofa arrived on 3rd May.
Sat on it that night. The next morning I thought the cushions looked a bit saggy. My partner said it might just be settling of some sort. A week later the sagging was very bad, couch looked second hand.
Material around the edges was all puckered as well as sagging. To me it looked like either material wasnt pulled tight enough, or there wasnt enoungh stuffing to pad it out
Notified Harvey Norman on the 11th of May.
They said they would send someone out to take a look.
Man came out, saw couch and sent in his report to Harvey Norman, saying the stuffing was of bad quality.
Harvey Norman got back to us, saying they would replace the stuffing. As of today, we still have not had the problem rectified, and I have also noticed that now, under the cushions, where the velcro that sticks the cushions to the couch frame, that velcro is fraying very badly and I can see past the velcro fabric into the cushion.
I feel now that the couch is not fit for use, because if it is looking and fraying like this after just a couple of months, I dread to think how bad it will look in 6 mths, or a year.
I think we have been patient enough. Also bear in mind, we are paying for this couch on HUMM payments.
I would like to just get a refund at this point . I do feel they will push back and refuse refund.
Could someone advise as to whether I would be entitiled to a refund at this stage.
I am also considering the Small Claims Court, if that is something I need to do
So dissapointed, we have just moved into a brand new apartment, and the couch, to me, looks like a saggy second hand couch. Has really taken the bloom off the rose, so to speak.
Thanks for reading and for any advice anyone could give me
