Did anybody get any good deals on family rooms in London (central) recently. Looking at heading for a few days with two kids & hubby during mid term and a bit bamboozled with googling at this stage. Any recommendations.

Hi,
We stayed in the Crowne Plaza - The City, with our 2 kids last Autumn.
We were very happy with the hotel and it's location. It's not the cheapest but we didn't eat in the hotel, and the room was good for family - 2 double beds.
Also close to nice river walks and beside Blackfriars train station - we were able to take the train straight in from Luton airport. Used the left luggage to the max. which was great - arrived early and left late without having to lug our bags around the city ...Hope you have a good trip !!!

Stayed in the premier inn @ kings cross (close to train and underground) got a good price at the time for 1 room shared between the wife, me and the 2 muppets.
Have to say staffs were brill very polite; breakfast was cheap (buy adult breakfast get kids free so we all ate for £16) and the rooms were very clean. The room with double, single and camp bed was small but then we weren't in the room that much.

Anybody stayed in good family room with double and 2single beds. Kids are 11 & 13 so wd prefer single beds for five night stay for them and double for us ;)

Not sure if the Hilton Sale is still on , but if it is try and get one of the family suites at the Hilton Metropole. Fantastic.
The premier inns have a £29 per night sale on at the moment and there is a good one in the Docklands.
We are going ourselves mid-term and have booked a 4 bed private room at the Central London Youth Hostel. A far cry from the youth hostels of old. Flat screen TV's in the Bar/Lounge and a M&S around the corner.Located 5 mins walk to Oxford Circus Tube. The St Pancras Youth hostel is great also. About £85 per night for a 4 bed en-suite. Large comfortable bunk beds. Adults take the bottom !!!!!!! Young teenagers will love the atmosphere.
Dont forget to book " The Eye " on-line before you go-----good discounts.

I'm not that familiar with the geography of London but is there any reasonably priced hotel in the near vicinity of the National Science Museum and Natural History Museum?

Brought our kids to london last weekend to see all the museums. The National History and The Science museum are both in South Kennsington, both less than 5 mins walk from south Ken tube station, so you can stay anywhere in Central London and get there very quickly. Check out tripadvisor for hotels in that area.
We stayed in The Central london Youth Hostel , situated between Oxford Circus and Regents Park. Great location. Had a family 4 bedded room with en-suite for £85 per night. 5 mins walk to Regents Park or Warren St tube stations and 10 mins to oxford circus. Very safe and quiet also. would highly reccomend with children.
