Family friendly resorts on the Lisbon Coast

I have been to the Algarve a couple of times but am considering taking our summer holidays on the Lisbon coast this yeatr.
Does anyone have any suggestions ot towns/resorts close to Lisbon that would be suitable for families? Any suggestions on hotels would be welcome also.

Cascais and Estoril spring to mind, Lisbon's beach towns (for comparison, think Bray-type distance and connections from Dublin with loads of sunshine and golden beaches ) Can't help with places to stay - stayed in Lisbon itself and took the train out on a day trip to the beach. Make sure to do a trip to Belém (about half way to Lisbon on the train) and try out the original Portuguese custard tarts (pasteis de nata) in an extremely busy but well-worth-a-visit café there. A classic example of the Portuguese love of tiles too - they have wonderfully decorated walls. They are known as Pasteis de Belém.
