We've decided to change our car, we want something that's a bit special. We have 2 small kids so we'll need space. "Himself" wants a Merc, an E220. I don't see myself as a Merc driver!! (He can't get his head around this)...........and I'll be driving it most of the time!

We were thinking of something 2002 / 2003, probably diesel. Any suggestions as to alternatives?

Definately go for diesel......cant go wrong with passat tdi , or if your terms of "special" are merc,bmw,audi....either the audi a4 tdi or bmw 320d.......bmw 525d are nice but the they come with a lot of miles for the year your contemplating.......bullet proof though....

Seems really high , are you sure !!! However if your buying 2002-2003 maybe the belt has just been replaced ! Check the service log. I can vouch for the 2003 Passat Tdi.
