Key Post Expatriate Tax Advisors

A friend of mine has returned from Canada and was asking me about the tax implications. I told him that he would need specialist tax advice.

I thought it would be useful to compile a list of advisors in Ireland who are familiar with the tax rules in different countries.

I have known its owner Brid Doherty since studying with her back in the day. I have referred some contacts to her over the years for help with foreign tax returns and feedback has always been good.

Any of the big firms can offer advice. Even a lot of small to medium size firms have international partnerships. Cooney Carey in Sandyford are part of the Russell Bedford network, so if they don't know the answer, they can get it from people in their network. HLB Sheehan Quinn is another firm in Sandyford who are part of HLB Global, which is another network of firms around the world.

Hi Steven - I would never send an individual - other than a High Net Worth Individual - to a big firm.

www.Expattaxes.ie has also been recommended to me.

I have to say that I really like their clarity about pricing. A lot of people are nervous about contacting professionals on the grounds that there is a minimum charge for some simple questions.

This is very helpful, thank you. I was actually planning to ask a question about recommendations. Very timely.

I certainly will. Timing is uncertain right now but will for sure report back.

We've used Richard Dunn of taxamerican.com to file US tax returns for us with the last few years. I would recommend him.

It depends how much is involved and the level of complexity.


KTA are an excellent firm with very good affiliates in the main jurisdictions.
