I have not much experience in investing.
I want to invest about 10k. Can take reasonable some risk (certainly not high risk). New Ireland Evergreen seems to have performed well. Is it a good bet. Management charges seems 1.75% put there is also the bid /offer issue.
Would Quinn Life be better bet. Charges are lower and no bid/offer issue.
How can I decide as it seems past performance is not reliable.

Past performance is no guide to future returns.

What precisely are all of the charges.

Definitely better on charges so. So it's more a question of whether or not any of their index tracking funds suit your risk/reward profile needs.

I invested 11,000 Euros in Bank of Ireland`s Evergreen Fund in September 2005. Before that, the money was sitting in a BOI savings account earning a tiny return. 1 year and 4 months later, the investment is now worth 12,500 Euros! I am delighted with this return. It is a 5 year investment term, but I think I will need the money before the term is up. Therefore, I think I will have to pay an exit tax or penalty. Even so, the Evergreen fund is considered a reliable fund that has performed consistently well over the last decade (except for a while after 9/11).

I would advise you to go ahead and invest in the fund,

Good luck,

Michael
