Evergreen direct vs discount broker

Hi,

First post so hope to get some advice. I invested 20K as a long term (15 years +) investment in the New Ireland Smart Funds (Evergreen and Pacific Basic funds) about 3 years ago and both have been doing reasonably well. Up over 10% on both. I went through Bank Of Ireland directly and am paying 1.5% annual man fee. I noticed from reading the threads that there are discount brokers who charge less than 1%. My question is this, is it worthwhile cashing in the existing investment and reinvesting through a discounted broker and therefore saving approx half the man fee going forward? Am planning to add to the fund in the near future.

As long as there are no penalties for enchasment and no clauses to prevent this kind of switching (i.e. maybe only new business/customer qualifies for discount?) then the answer is almost certainly yes.
