Hi

Is there a code of conduct published anywhere that Estate agents have to follow. I'm dealing with one at the moment as a potential buyer and he's worse than useless

I'm interested in finding out more about whether there are legal guidelines under which they must operate. Also is there a regulator/ombudsman for complaints?

The and [broken link removed] have their own codes of conduct for members of those organizations. I'm not aware of any statutory regulation of the industry though.
