ESB connection delays - new build

Has anyone had any recent experience with ESB timelines when connecting a new build in an estate? There are about ten houses waiting to be connected. Our house is finished apart from ESB connection. Builder has been waiting for two weeks so far but hasn't even received a date yet from ESB as to when they will commence work. If anyone has any idea of timelines with ESB, it would be appreciated.
 
I don't know the answer to your query but it occurs to me that if you say what general area of the country you're in, you might get a more meaningful reply.
 
Only seeing this thread now. I work in the electrical engineering industry and yes, the ESB are awful at the moment. Typical timeline would be 8 weeks from when the Builder books them in but this isn't guaranteed. They are also liable to come and only do a portion of the works and not return for another month.
