Enabling Chat Privacy on What's App

I got this message in a group of which I was a member.

Since today, AI is available on WhatsApp and therefore has access to all chats.
You can activate the option 'advanced privacy'. Otherwise, AI's can open group messges, see phone numbers, and even take out personal information off your phone ,....also in private chats...
To prevent this:
Open the chat
Tick on the name at the top
Scroll down and activate 'Advanced chatprivacy'.
Do this as soon as possible and share this with other groups you are in, especially if you are the owner of the group. In groups, only the owner can change the privacy status.

So I have activated it in two small groups I run.

But what about individual chats? Is there any way to enable it for all chats?

You can enable it for both group and individual chats but you can only do it one at a time and not for all in one go.

You must enable Advanced chat privacy for each individual or group chat you want to apply this setting to.

I always thought your chats were end to end encrypted. AI access was only for chats with AI?

They are, but the WhatsApp AI runs on your phone and can see your messages just the same as you can.

Thanks for that. I could be wrong but I think it's just blocking exporting anything. Not blocking Whatsapp AI from the data internally in the App. Just blocking anyone for exporting it to use with AI. Maybe that's the same thing but I suspect it isn't.

But I think Meta has access to all your messages and it's been known to be economical with the truth on personal data in Facebook. So I would be wary of what data you put in Whatsapp.

It's usually very cryptic with how it describes privacy functionality. It doesn't do that for no reason.
