Hi I'm not sure if this is the right location for this thread - apologies in advance if its not.
I am contracting through a recruitment agency at the moment & the end client have asked me to finish within the week because there is literally no work available.
Thing is there is a 2 week notice period in my contract so I'm losing a week's pay that I'm entitled to. That week's pay would cover my rent & every other expenditure for a month so it would go a long way (it's a couple of k).
I don't want to cause issue with the end client as I need them for a reference, or the agency because of future employment. The agency have told me because they wont be getting paid - I won't, however if the shoe were on the other foot I'm sure I would be threatened with legal action if I broke my contract without serving notice.
I just want to see if anyone has had this experience before in Ireland & any recommendations?
