Hi I have a business registered and based in Ireland, I have some work in Northern Ireland that my irish based staff go up and do.

Can I employ a Northern Ireland resident to work on this work and some in southern Ireland without registering my business in Northern Ireland.

I would like to pay them in Ireland with all of the usual paye, prsi etc being Irish instead of having to learn the uk system?

Thanks

If you employ a Northern Ireland person to work in NI you will have to operate UK tax and National Insurance. If they are not resident and working in Ireland you would not make them pay Irish tax.

Thanks John, I spoke to the dept of trade and ent and they told me to just treat them as I treat my other staff, so still abit confused.
