Hi -2 years ago i was in an employer health insurance scheme for 8 months this was provided as part of the benefits of employment and all costs were covered by my employer and i paid bik each month . I presumed when i left that cover would stop and did not take out alternative cover or policy. However i got an email recently from the provider about the policy and it looks like it has been renewed for the last 2 years though i havent paid or been sent a bill. Are there employers schemes that keep you part of health insurance scheme after you have left employment? Or is this an error and cover is void?if you leave employment should you automatically be removed from health insurance ?
 
Yes sounds like an oversight of the part of your former employer. When I was leaving previous employer who had been funding my health insurance, in order to continue the cover I had to pay the balance on the remaining term of the policy directly, otherwise it would have been cancelled.
