Employer Contribution to AVC PRSA

I am a member of my employers DB pension scheme. I also have my own AVC PRSA pension which I contribute regular additional amounts to. My employer wishes to make a substantial one off contribution to my AVC account, is this permitted or does contributions to an AVC account have to come solely from the employee?

When you say substantial, I'm guessing that it would be in excess of your age-related limits for tax relief, when your existing AVCs and personal contributions to the DB scheme are taken into account. I think your employer will need to set up a separate DC fund for you to supplement your DB benefits.

Thanks, I need to speak to my employer and yes the amount would exceed my age limit%
