Hi,
I contribute to a company pension scheme - 10% of my salary PM with the company contributing another 6% - all 10% is contributed as an AVC. Now the company is in the process of changing the pension provider & the new Provider will only accept 4% of the 10% as an AVC - reason is that the revenue don't "like" such a large % to be AVC's... it seems to me that I should still be able to contribute all 10% as an AVC - can anyone confirm this?

Thanks

It depends on the pension scheme trust deed and rules.

I presume that the new provider is interpreting them correctly?

But surly you can contribute by way of AVC up to the max allowed by revenue

Yes but some contributions may not be classified as AVC depending on scheme rules.
