Employ temporary UK staff

We are a limited company looking to employ a UK resident for a fixed term contract 6 to 12 months - possibly longer.

1. Do we need to register with UK tax authoroties - how/where?
2. Do we need to set up UK bank accounts - I assume not.

Any info or advice greatly appreciated.

employ them as a contractor and let them look after their own taxes

If you are getting paid in STG and paying the employee/contractor in STG then a STG account can be handy, Ulster bank do one from their global markets division in Dublin (about £75 fee twice a year)

As far as im aware its their business to declare revenue for tax purposes, not yours being an irish entity
