Emigrating, how to approach Irish debts?

Hi folks,

I'm emigrating soon to New Zealand, I've got a loan of around 20k with payments of 140 a week, a 3k overdraft and a credit card with a balance of 1500. These are all with the same lender (BOI)

I have every intention of repaying this debt but I dont have enough cash to leave here in the account to service the debt.
My plan is to start repayments again once I'm working over there.

My question is how will I go about contacting my bank branch and explaining this. Would it be better to wait till I'm over there? What will I say to the loan guy in the bank? To make matters worse this branch is in my home town and the bank staff know my parents, would they be able to contact them directly about my finances?

Edited to add that my first loan with this branch was 8 years ago, due to consolidation loans etc I have been consistently making debt repayments to them without defaulting once in the 8 years, do you think this might stand in my favour?

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I know I'm stupid for not sorting this out earlier, I guess its the head in the sand approach.
