Would he need too call revenue too sort his tax credits or would it be sorted automatically?once his tax credits are sorted he will get it back in the next payslip.
If his employment is now registered with Revenue and his standard rate and credits are allocated to it on a cumulative basis then he'll be refunded any overpayment of tax from 2022 when his employer acts on the latest RPN issued to them.Would he need too call revenue too sort his tax credits or would it be sorted automatically?
He input the employers details into his Ros online.
On his account it says pending. If his employment is now registered with Revenue and his standard rate and credits are allocated to it on a cumulative basis then he'll be refunded any overpayment of tax from 2022 when his employer acts on the latest RPN issued to them.

I can't recall the specific details, but when I switched jobs circa 5 years ago I remember logging onto to my revenue online account to confirm my new employer and tax credits. Either none were listed under my new employer or the details were incorrect. I rang the Revenue and informed them of my new employer/salary and they updated the info there and then. I managed to avoid emergency tax.On his account it says pending.
Will revenue send the employer a RPN ? Is that normal ?
Thanks
When did he register the job? And can he see his version of the RPN (tax credit certificate) in his documents section of his MyAccount? On his account it says pending.

He registered on the 4th and the employer details as well as his first payment is on his revenue profile. When did he register the job? And can he see his version of the RPN (tax credit certificate) in his documents section of his MyAccount?
this will give him the right number to callHe registered on the 4th and the employer details as well as his first payment is on his revenue profile.
He will call revenue today.
Hopefully all is order but it's probably a case that the employer hasn't applied the new RPN as of yet it's only been a few days. I'd imagine if it's in order then the employer will download the RPN for the next payroll. He registered on the 4th and the employer details as well as his first payment is on his revenue profile.

Just look at the tax cert and see if it says cumulative or week 1 - if it's cumulative he should get the tax back when he next gets paid but if he's on week 1 basis he can claim it back in January.
There would be an asterisk beside the employment on page 2 and a line at the bottom of page 2 saying the the cert is in a week 1 or emergency tax basis. If that's not there then that means that the cert has been issued on the normal cumulative basis so all should be good.It doesn’t say either.
It just shows his tax cut off point etc.
How can one make a claim in January ??
Although it says the cert is from start date till 31 December 2022.
