Email offering a revenue refund

Got an email from out IT Dept;

All,

Please be advised there are emails circulating around that falsely claim to be from the Inland Revenue Commissioners.The email claims you are due a tax refund and requests you to log on through a false link.

I got one of those fake emails from the Revenue Commissioners.

Deleted it.

While the language sounded authentic, what made it obvious that it was a fake was that it was offering a refund for overpayment of 2009 tax following what sounded like an end of year assessment. As 2009 tax year isnt over, so its not possible to determine if someone has overpaid !!!
