this plumber is trying to ROB you you dont need to replace your bath if its stable enough to support you lying down its stable enough for any type of shower he is a cow boy and 1600 for an electric shower is unbelievable you could get your bathroom done for that a triton t90 xr electric pump shower supplied and installed i charge 750 to 800 depending on work involved the esb charge 880 euro if you need the job done pm me and save a fortune and yes i am a qualified plumber i am actually furious someone would try to charge you this collosal rate

I just had a shower installed last week (in my en suite). It is a triton T90 and for buying and installing it (minus the electrician) it was €650.

You will get an electric shower supplied and installed for in or around this price.
The cables will be run in surface mounted trunking rather than chasing the wall and re-tiling / re-plastering which is where most of the work is.
If a plumber / electrician does it this way it should not take more than half a day

Any man who calls himself a trademan and wires an Electric Shower in surface mounted trunking should have his ticket taken from him.
