I changed to utv from eircom on sept 3rd and cancelled my flat rate got my eircom bill today to discover they charge you per minute from beg of billing period when you cancel mid billing term- I was charged per minute from aug-sept 3rd even though I had flat rate during aug it appears it is in the terms and conditions when you first apply
 
Look on the bright side, you are getting away from eircom. They caused me a lot of hassle while stsrting up my new business this year with broadband, that I have just moved my home phone to UTV and will be moving my work lines soon. They are rubbish to deal with, treated us like a nuicance.
