Eircom Phonewatch

We had a marketing guy call around the other night. He was offering a special rate for front, back door plus 3 rooms for euro1240 up front for 3 years monitoring with Eircom phonewatch.

I rang Eircom and they quoted the same figure. but to get smoke alarm, and additional windows etc costs a lot more.
he mentioned that this is primarily for when you are out of the house. If you want the system to work while you are asleep at night then you need a different package which costs a lot more.

Anyone know if I can get a better deal ?

That's not really correct. If you have a key fob (60 euros) or a remote control (100 euros) they will deactivate the alarm. Of course, you would need to have either of these in your bedroom. Other than that, you have a mad dash and 30 seconds to turn off the alarm from the main control board.
