Effect of dividends on cgt loss.

I have shares that I could sell at a loss,but I have benefited by a significant dividend since I bought them.
Will that effect the amount of my loss.
Any help appreciated.

For CGT purposes, no.

Dividends are regarded as income, therefore you should have been submitting those Dividend payments to revenue yearly as a tax return. On form 11 there is a section where you can declare dividends, if irish, us , British or other country. Also you declare whether or not Dividend withholding tax was deducted at source
