Theres a section on tax return form 11.
It asks for net (nett it should say) amount of UK dividends received.
Why are they not looking for the gross amount?
I was deducted the Irish encashment tax only.
 
I think because it is the same, there is no dividend withholding tax generally in UK. UK is heaven if you are a stock market investor especially compared to here, therefore UK dividends are fully taxable here as there is no credit for UK withholding tax
