DVD Camcorder

Thinking of buying a Sony DVD Camcorder. I can get it throught the States much cheaper than buying it here. Will I have trouble here re charging batteries, playing dvd etc?

I bought my sony mini dv camcorder in new york recently. No problems with rechargers etc but make sure you tell them you are european and that you get the PAL version of the device.

These guys are really good but are closed half day friday and all day saturday.

bhphoto is an excellent shop. The proprieters are Jewish so that's why they close Fri/Sat. They do pal versions of most devices but browse the website first to check. If you are not visiting the states they will ship to Ireland, but you might get caught for the VAT.
