Hi all,
does anyone know if any of the online brokers (preferably US) eg Etrade allow you to setup a dummy account so that you practise trading without using real money! :) I'd like to learn more about trading and how it works online.
Cheers

Why not just use Yahoo, Bullbearings or any one of the other sites that offer 'fantasy' style portfolios?

indeed

investopedia offers something like that aswell.

FYI shank , Etrade allows you to have watch lists which do what you are suggesting. You can picks stocks to watch and organise them in their own portfolios etc etc and it records them in the same fashion as shares you've traded and own (ie you can see the buy price, current price, % gain etc etc).

However once you open an account (which you would have to do to do this) you have to trade once a quarter otherwise they will charge you about 15 dollars or so account maintenance fee ......so one of the learning sites mentioned above would probably be more economical.

Hi guys,
much appreciation for the very quick responses. I will look into these sites. Cheers
Shane
